When the Loup JCC Maccabi Games end in Denver on Aug. 6, you will hear the sound of many hands clapping more like unanimous cheering for a job well done on every level.
Thanks to 1,300 young Jewish athletes who gave it their all, the games were an unrivaled success in Denver Jewish history. Irrespective of final scores or records broken, everybody won this week.
From tireless organizers to anonymous host families throughout the region, Denver Jewry has surpassed its personal best.
We can only imagine the emotional partings as Jewish kids bid adieu to each other and their host families. No doubt cell phones are bursting with numbers and photos warm memories of moments past, and new friendships waiting to ring in the near future.
Lance Armstrong has just announced that hes bringing a major international cycling event to Colorado next summer.
Our state continues carving its place on the athletic map and in human hearts everywhere. In this, were all winners.
