Louis Keller

Louis KellerLouis Keller, a longtime member of the Labor Zionist Organization of America, passed away Jan. 23, 2012, in Aurora. Rabbis Bernard Gerson and Richard Rheins and Cantor Saul Rosenthal officiated at the Jan. 26 service at Rodef Shalom.

Interment followed at Mt. Nebo Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

“A staunch supporter of Israel and many Jewish causes, he loved art, music, nature and his family,” his loved ones said.

Mr. Keller was born Aug. 15, 1916, in Rypin, Poland. In 1929, he immigrated to Toronto, Canada, where he lived until 1934.

From 1934-1997, he lived in New York City.

Mr. Keller married Dena Brown on Aug. 30, 1942.

He served with the US Army in WW II.

A shoe designer, he worked in ladies’ fashions at Palizzio in New York City.

Past president of the Gesher branch of the Labor Zionist Organization of America in Long Island, Mr. Keller belonged to the Israel Community Center and Old Westbury Congregation in New York.

After moving to Denver in 1997, he joined Rodef Shalom.

Mr. Keller is survived by his wife Dena Keller; daughter Roz Keller and son Dan Keller; and grandchildren Adam Araneo, Sophie Araneo, Sarah Keller and Sam Keller.

He was predeceased by his son Mark M. Keller on Sept. 1, 2001.
