Loraine Babe Waldman, a native Denverite and lifelong resident, passed away Dec. 7, 2015, in Denver. Rabbi Steven Rubenstein officiated at the Dec. 9 graveside service at Rose Hill Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
”Loraine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother,” the family said. “She kept a kosher home and constantly opened her house and heart to share all the holidays with her family.
”She always created an environment that inspired everyone around her to become upstanding, honest and hardworking.”
Mrs. Waldman was born Sept. 3, 1921, in Denver to Sam and Tillie Goldberg. She graduated North High School in 1939.
She married Irving Waldman on Jan. 17, 1944. They traveled the world together and took many wonderful cruises.
Mr. Waldman passed away on April 16, 1987.
A homemaker, Mrs. Waldman volunteered at Beth Israel Hospital, where she ran the snack bar, and tested the hearing of newborns at University Hospital.
Mrs. Waldman was an avid bowler and enjoyed her weekly Mah Jongg game with dear friends.
She belonged to Hadassah, Easter Star and the Hebrew Educational Alliance.
“Even though her memory failed her during the last couple of years, Babe was a fiercely proud and strong woman,” her family said. ”She left us a legacy of caring, teaching and touching hearts.”
Mrs. Waldman is survived by her daughter Leslie Schwartz of Colorado; grandchildren Tracy Kincaid, Brad Kaatz, Joshua Schwartz, Robin Orr, Yonatan Schwartz, Doron Ben Chaim and Aliza Ben Chaim; and great-grandchildren Jordan Kaatz, Danny Gavin, Matty Gavin, Payge Gavin, Kaytlin Gavin, Zev Schwartz and Ari Schwartz.
She was predeceased by her daughter Teri Diane Orr on April 23, 1993.
