Lisa Kassoff

Social worker Lisa Kassoff passed away on January 3, 2023. A service was held on January 6 at Emanuel Cemetery, officiated by Rabbi Sara Gilbert. Feldman Mortuary handled the arrangements.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1954, Ms. Kassoff received a bachelor’s degree from Ohio State University, and then earned a master’s of social work degree from DU. In 1993 she married Jeff Spaniel, and they remained a couple until her passing.

Ms. Kassoff was a geriatrics social worker in Denver for over 40 years, and specialized in home health care.

She also supervised internship programs of many social work students, and was active in social work support groups.

“She was an inspiration to many people she came across as a social worker, including me!” said Mr. Spaniel.

“She loved to travel and was an avid cat lover,” he added.

Survivors are Ms. Kassoff’s husband Jeff and son Brandon Spaniel.
