Links to…Sukkot

Sukkot ranks up there as one of the quirkiest Jewish holidays. Living outdoors just as autumn is settling in? Shaking a seemingly random collection of branches and a rare citrus fruit in all directions? And that’s not even getting into the details. What about the fact that the schach – the sukkah “roof” – cannot offer complete coverage but must include gaps, just to make sure the rain will get you! You know what, scratch the above. Sukkot probably is the most quirky Jewish festival. Which is probably what makes it so much fun. And every unusual holiday has its share of unusual – and creative – happenings.
