Letters exchanged on Shalom Cares kashrut

Cares will not meet with the Rocky Mountain Rabbinical Council, the Coalition of Orthodox Synagogue Rabbis or others ahead of the Sept. 19 vote on whether to close its kosher kitchen. However, the leadership of the continuum of care senior campus has engaged in correspondence about the program. The Orthodox coalition expressed its objections to the proposed closure of the kosher kitchen in a letter dated Sept. 7 and subsequently obtained by the Intermountain Jewish News. Addressed to Shalom Park president and CEO Dan Stenersen and the board of trustees, the group emphasized several issues of concern.
