Leonard H. Siegel, former board chairman of Standard Electric Supply Co., passed away April 19, 2009, in Mesa, Ariz.
Rabbi Jacob Herber officiated at the April 23 service in Milwaukee, Wisc. Blane Goodman Funeral Service LCC made the arrangements.
My dad was an intelligent, shrewd businessman, his daughter Nancy Siegel said at the service. He remembered everything you told him he just never told you everything he remembered.
My dad is my light bulb a light bulb of inspiration and ideas that will continue to shine for me and all who knew and loved him.
Mr. Siegel was born June 28, 1915, in Milwaukee, Wisc., and graduated from the University of Wisconsin.
He met his wife Marie in 1941 and later served in the US Army, 1943-1946.
President of Standard Electric, he retired as chairman of the board.
Mr. Siegel served on the executive committee and board of governors of the National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED), and testified before the US Congress on product liability in 1976.
NAED honored him with the distinguished service award for his dedication and contributions.
Mr. Siegel moved to Scottsdale, Ariz., in 2006.
A supporter of more than 60 local and national Jewish organizations, he loved celebrating the Jewish holidays with his children and grandchildren.
Mr. Siegel is survived by children Nancy Joy Siegel, Robert M. (Barbara) Siegel and Avrahaum (Rina) Segol; siblings Ruth (the late Eugene) Zubatsky and Louis Bud Siegel; and grandchildren Amanda, Alicia, Analisa, Aerica, ImmanuEl, Yismah and Darshana.
