Lee Moss Kutner, a Denver attorney since 1981, passed away in his sleep surrounded by his family on Dec. 18, 2020. He was 65. Rabbi Bruce Dollin and Cantor Martin Goldstein officiated at the Dec. 20 graveside service at Rose Hill Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
“Lee was brilliant, honest and kind, and told his family he loved them every day,”his loved ones said. “It was the last thing he told them before he passed.”
Mr. Kutner was born in 1955 in Niagara Falls, NY. His family moved to Oak Park, Mich., when he was nine, and moved to Denver while he was in college.
Mr. Kutner graduated from the University of Michigan in 1976 and earned his JD in 1980 at the National Law Center of George Washington University in Washington, DC.
He joined his parents in Denver and began his legal practice as an associate in a law firm in 1981.
“Lee was devoted to his wife Cynthia Klausner Kutner,” the family said. “They were the love of each other’s lives since the day they met 38 years ago.”
Mr. Kutner later became the primary shareholder in Kutner Brinen, where he practiced corporate reorganization and bankruptcy law for 37 years with his partner and friend Jeff Brinen.
He pushed the practice of bankruptcy law forward, setting precedent; lectured at conferences; and published chapters in legal texts.
Lee Kutner is survived by his wife Cynthia; children Justin (Jennifer Sisk) Kutner, Alyssa Kutner and Mia Kutner; grandson Charles Julian Kutner; and sister Roslyn (Jim Nadorff) Zigmond.
