Larry Siegel

Community leader Larry Siegel died on August 6, 2022, at the age of 81. A service was held August 8 at Mt. Nebo Memorial Park, officiated by Rabbi Rick Rheins. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

Mr. Siegel was influential in the Jewish community. He was a former president of Temple Sinai, and was instrumental in the founding of Shalom Park. Mr. Siegel was also president of the Allied Jewish Federation (JEWISHcolorado) and had significant involvement with Hillel of Colorado.

Growing up on Denver’s West Side, Mr. Siegel attended Cheltenham Elementary, Lake Junior High School and West High School. He attended CU Boulder and graduated from DU with a degree in accounting.

Mr. Siegel entered the family business at Siegel Oil Company, where he later became president and chief executive officer. He spent 40 years in the lubricants business; his family said “Larry was an industry innovator and creator. He had a positive impact on many lives and was a loyal and well-loved employer.”

After retirement, Mr. Siegel and his wife Susan split their time between Denver and Scottsdale, Ariz.

“Larry was quick with a smile, a joke and story,” his family said. “He believed in giving back to the community and was extremely generous with his time, energy and philanthropy.”

Mr. Siegel is survived by his wife Susan; children Don (Liza) Siegel, Lori (Jeff) Siegel-Cooper, Dana Siegel Burding, Elizabeth Marshall and David Marshall; and nine grandchildren. He was predeceased by his granddaughter Hallie Siegel.
