Lakewood City Council meeting targeted with hate speech

A Lakewood City Council meeting on Feb. 12 took an unexpected turn when hate speech was heard during one of the public comment portions of the evening. As the council started to discuss a strategic housing plan that has garnered strong opinions in the community, the first three public comments — all of which came via the virtual comment option — had nothing to do with housing, but were a regurgitation of vile anti-Semitism.
