For nearly a century, its clouds of steam have risen into the West Side atmosphere, its iconic neon sign serving as a glowing beacon along Colfax Avenue. But now, in an era in which Denver landmarks can vanish in the blink of an eye, Denver Jews worry that Lake Steam Baths — the community’s beloved Russian-style shvitz — might join the ranks of places relegated to the halls of history and memory.
