Kim Harris says that her true nature is to be an introvert, inherently shy and quiet. “A fake extrovert” is how she describes herself. She could have fooled me — and a lot of other people. Among them are members of Congregation B’nai Chaim, a relatively small Reform community located near Morrison that serves unofficially as the Jewish house of worship for the greater southwestern metro area. Last fall, the congregation hired Cantor Harris to become its new spiritual leader, an unusual move in which a cantor is expected to master not only the traditional musical roles associated with that profession but the ritual, social, educational and counseling responsibilities associated with the rabbinate.
