Judith Guon Staudenmier, 74, an excellent baker, cook, and active member of the HEA Sisterhood, passed away Nov. 25, 2013, in Denver due to complications of advanced Alzheimers disease.
Rabbis Bruce Dollin and Salomon Gruenwald and Cantor Martin Goldstein officiated at the Nov. 26 graveside service at Emanuel Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
Judy was a giving person, always on the side of the less fortunate, the family said. She was loved by everyone, never lost a friend, had a wonderful sense of humor and was extremely close to her family.
Judy was born Jan. 2, 1939, in Mandan, North Dakota, where her family owned and operated the Havana Club.
A graduate of Mandan High, she attended community college.
In 1960, Judy moved to Denver and became a bank teller at Colorado National Bank. She also worked at the IJN for about a year.
Judy married Robert Staudenmier on Sept. 10, 1966. After his death on March 3, 1997, she kept busy with her family, grandchildren and friends.
She was a big supporter of planting trees in Israel.
Judy is survived by her daughter Leah (Sam) Marcus of Denver and Scott (Kelley) Staudenmier of Denver; grandchildren Daniel and Lexi Marcus and Caitlyn and Amber Staudenmier; and brother Marvin Guon of Seattle.
