Joyce Heyman

Joyce HeymanJoyce L. Heyman, an active volunteer, passed away Nov. 18, 2009, in Poway, Calif. Rabbis Scott Meltzer and Sara Gilbert officiated at the Nov. 20 graveside service at Mt. Nebo Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

“She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend,” the family said.

Mrs. Heyman was born March 1, 1946, in Morristown, NJ. She graduated from Morristown High, Tucson High and Pima Community College.

On Oct. 20, 1985, she married Stan V. Heyman.

A dental assistant, Mrs. Heyman volunteered for the Tucson Hebrew Academy in Arizona and the ADL in San Diego.

She belonged to the Ohr Shalom Synagogue Sisterhood in San Diego, Calif.

Mrs. Heyman is survived by her husband Stan Heyman; children Ben Gordon and Melissa Gordon of Tucson, Ariz., Amy Heyman of Milan, Italy, and Cory Heyman of Potomac, Md., sister Jannet Tenner of Margate, Fla.; and grandchildren Cassandra, Josephine, Naomi, Jonah, Kevin, Jr., and Noah.
