Joyce Donna Fishman, a travel agent for over 40 years and a superb hostess, passed away April 22, 2021, in Denver. Cantor Martin Goldstein officiated at the public April 25 graveside service at Mt. Nebo Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
“We will miss her smile, love of life, feistiness and fantastic pep talks,” her family said. “She was a cheerleader to everyone around her and a relentless optimist, even in the worst circumstances.
“Being around Joyce made the world more colorful, fun, and joyful.”
Joyce Donna Fishman was born October 24, 1939 in Denver to Henry and Anne (Borinsky) Leiser.
A graduate of East High School, she worked as a travel agent for over 40 years and retired at age 78.
Mrs. Fishman led an active social life including frequent get-togethers with her coffee klatch, Potluck Club and canasta friends.
Mrs. Fishman hosted parties, celebrations and Jewish holidays, with her piping hot bowls of matzah ball soup and delicious food.
Ron Fishman, her husband of 37 years, passed away in January, 2020. Shortly after his death, as COVID-19 began in earnest, Mrs. Fishman moved to High Pointe assisted living. She developed many friendships in her new community.
Joyce Fishman is survived by her brother Dean (Anne) Leiser and sister-in-law Sue (the late Mort) Leiser; children and their spouses Lori (Fishman) and Chris Ello, Karen (Litvak) and Jamus Skelton, Julie (Fishman) and Dennis Pieper, Marcy Litvak and Will Pockman, Marc and Heather Fishman, Dianna Litvak and Brian Winn; and their granddaughters Allison, Emily, Katie, Alexa, Ella, Lucy and Madison.
