Jennie Cohen Wasko

Jennie Cohen Wasko, a native Denverite and beloved community volunteer, passed away Aug. 27, 2008, in Denver.

Rabbi Bruce Dollin and Cantor Martin Goldstein officiated at the Aug. 29 graveside service at Rose Hill Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

Mrs. Wasko was born Dec. 14, 1917, in Denver. She attended Colfax Elementary and North High School.

She also lived in Lamar, Colo.

Jennie Cohen married Irving Wasko on June 4, 1939. Mr. Wasko passed away on Nov. 12, 1996.

A housewife and mother, Mrs. Wasko was past president of the Beth Joseph Sisterhood and volunteered for the Federation of Jewish Women and several other organizations.

An avid reader and cook, she loved doing crossword puzzles.

Mrs. Wasko is survived by her son Bruce Wasko; and grandchildren Matthew and Dustin Wasko, Marne (Paul) Norquist, Emily Wasko, Alyssa and Hartley Wasko.

She was predeceased by her sons Mark and Donald Wasko.
