The grand opening of the new JCC South Denver location is Sunday, March 18, 2-4 p.m.
The 4,200-sq. foot site is located at 9625 E. Arapahoe Rd., Suites L-N, Greenwood Village.
Childrens activities and refreshments will be available throughout the afternoon, and a brief dedication will take place at 3 p.m.
The community open house will provide an opportunity for families to experience the new facility, connect with other Jewish and interfaith families and tell us what programs, classes and other events they would like to see at the new location, said Dani Wynn, program coordinator and Camp Shai South director.
The initial schedule includes holiday and multiple-week programs for young families such as tumbling, cooking and art classes.
We arent trying to duplicate the programming at the Loup JCC, but become what this growing community needs, said JCC Associate Executive Director Michael Rudnick.
Our engagement philosophy is to let families in the area determine what this JCC will become. We are inviting families to design their own JCC.
The centrally located Loup JCC, despite its full range of offerings, is unable to serve residents of South Denver, the fastest growing Jewish community in the Front Range.
There is a tremendous potential to create a lasting bridge between families and to increase the quality and quantity of collaborations among Jewish organizations, which will ultimately help provide greater access to resources in the Denver Jewish community, said Melissa Hoch, director of South Denver, day camps and youth programs.
