Janice Gross

Janice Gilinsky GrossJanice Gilinsky Gross of Denver passed away March 11, 2012, in Denver. Rabbis Joe Black and Steven Foster and Cantor Regina Heit officiated at the March 14 service at Temple Emanuel. Interment followed at Emanuel Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

“In addition to adventure, Janice had a passion for learning, especially science, that she passed on to her children and grandchildren,” the family said.

“An avid bridge player, she conveyed a sense of style wherever she went. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.”

Mrs. Gross was born July 12, 1930, in Omaha, Neb., and later attended Central High School.

She was married to Daniel F. Gross for nearly 54 years, and the couple traveled to all seven continents. Mr. Gross predeceased his wife.

Mrs. Gross earned her BA from CU in 1972, after her children were grown. She was devoted to her dog Nicky.

She is survived by her children David (Susan) of Shreveport, La., Jeff of Denver and Cheryl (Hank) of Denver; grandchildren Rachel of Boston, Sarah of New York, Zach of Denver and Michelle of Denver; and sister Patti (Avery) of Chicago.  Contributions may be made to Colorado Citizens for Canine Welfare.
