Jacqueline “Jackie” Lewin, a local TV producer, author and owner of a media escort service for celebrity authors visiting Denver, passed away May 18, 2020, in Denver. Rabbi Steven Foster officiated at the May 21 graveside service at Emanuel Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

“Decisive, impetuous, adventurous, creative, opinionated and witty, Jackie was great company and had a lifetime of friends to show for it,” her family says.

Jacqueline Elise Shere Lewin was born on July 27, 1934, in Denver to Donald Shere and Martha Reich Shere.

She received a full scholarship to Goucher College and earned a BA in English.

In 1954, she married Edward Lewin, also of Denver.

After living in Baltimore, Boston, California and Texas for a decade while her husband finished his medical training, the couple moved back to Denver.

Mrs. Lewin worked as the producer of the Bill Barker television and radio show at KOA and co-authored the book Denver! with Barker.

She published articles in national and regional magazines, wrote a mystery series and taught classes in fiction.

Mrs. Lewin accompanied celebrities such as Mary Higgins Clark, Judy Collins, Ken Follett, Al Gore, Sue Grafton and Gloria Steinem on their Denver book tours.

She loved playing bridge with friends in the same club for over 50 years, and played the piano and cello.

Mrs. Lewin was on the board of the DPL Friends Foundation, president of the Colorado Authors League and a reader for Recording for the Blind.

Jackie Lewin is survived by her children Cynthia Lewin (Arthur) Fox of Arlington, Va., and John (Rebecca) Lewin of Denver; and grandchildren Mira, Monica, James and Robert.
