Jack Kamin

Jack KaminJack Kamin, who moved to Denver in 2000 from Union, NJ, passed away Aug. 18, 2012, at Denver’s VA Hospital.

Rabbi Adam Morris officiated at the Aug. 22 service in New Jersey. Interment followed at Mount Lebanon Cemetery in Iselin, NJ.

A service celebrating Mr. Kamin’s life will take place Sunday, Aug. 26, 2 p.m., at Temple Micah.

“Jack lived life fully,” his family said. “He was totally devoted to his family and friends and brought joy to many.”

Mr. Kamin was born in 1921 in Poland and came to the US with his mother and siblings in 1927 to join his father.

A graduate of Weequahic High School, he joined the US Army Air Corps and fought in Europe as a technical sergeant in WW II.

Mr. Kamin married Shirley, his high school sweetheart, in 1942. They celebrated 65 years of marriage before Mrs. Kamin passed away in 2008.

After the war, he worked as a salesman and manager at Wise Shoe Store in Newark. He later started his own tool business, George Sales.

A member of the Knights of Pythias and the Jewish War Veterans, Mr. Kamin was passionate about music and singing.

He enjoyed entertaining his retirement community as well as nursing and veterans’ homes. A contestant in the National Veterans’ Talent Shows, he also received numerous medals.

Mr. Kamin is survived by his immediate family who live in Denver: children Sheri Kamin Lockhart and Marc Kamin; and grandchildren Jonathan (Jen), Irit (Jay) and Steven Lockhart.
