Jack Bohm

Jack Bohm, Brigadier GeneralJack N. Bohm of Leawood, Kansas, passed away Oct. 4, 2008. He was 84 Services were held Oct. 6 at the Louis Memorial Chapel, followed by interment at Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Louis Memorial Chapel made the arrangements.

A lawyer for over 50 years, Mr. Bohm received his JD from Washington University in 1948.

He served in WW II and earned the Bronze Star and the Legion of Merit. He retired with the rank of Brigadier General in the US Army Reserves.

A member of Beth Shalom Synagogue, Mr. Bohm was a life member of the board and past president of the Men’s Club.

He belonged to the B’nai B’rith Supreme Lodge board and was past president of both B’nai B’rith Kansas City Lodge #184 and District Grand Lodge #2.Mr. Bohm served on the boards of the local federation, ADL, American Jewish Committee and Jewish Geriatric Center.

Chair of the commercial law committee of the Missouri Bar Association, he co-chaired the National Conference of Christians and Jews.

As Brigadier General, Mr. Bohm served as chief judge of the US Army Court of Military Review and commander of the Army Legal Services Agency. He was also president of the Missouri State Reserve Officers’ Assn.

Mr. Bohm is survived by his wife of 61 years Liz Bohm; children Bob (Linda Taconis) Bohm of Florida, Rick (Lori) Bohm of New York and Lorie (Will) Klumb of Denver; grandchildren Lisa and Traci Klumb and Allie and Daniel Bohm; and sisters-in-law Sally Bohm, Sarah Bohm, Lee Bohm, Hannah Strauss and Blanch Tannenbaum.
