For the first time, an Israeli team is competing in the USA Pro-Challenge bicycle race this week. In fact, Team Cycling Academy is the first Israeli cycling team to race in the US.
The Pro-Challenge, held annually in Colorado, began Monday, Aug. 17 in Steamboat Springs and will finish Sunday, Aug. 23 at City Park in Denver.
Team Cycling Academy is comprised of five young cyclists, most under 23, with various countries of origin.
The team is owned by Ron Baron. Team manager is Ran Margoliot and the team director is Jan Vadach.
JEWISHcolorado encourages members of the Jewish community to turn out at the finish line on Aug. 23, 2 p.m. at the southwest corner of City Park to welcome the Israeli team.
