Irwin Burstein, a Denver resident for over 60 years, passed away March 15, 2010, in Denver. Rabbi Steven Foster officiated at the March 17 graveside service at Rose Hill Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
Irving was a very social person who made friends wherever he went, the family said. Everyone who knew him enjoyed his dry sense of humor.
A devoted and loving husband and father, he will be missed by all of ?those who had the good fortune to know him.
Mr. Burstein was born Jan. 23, 1924, in Denver. When he was a child, he moved with his family to Kansas City, Mo.
A high school graduate, he attended pharmacy school in Kansas City.
He served with the US Army during WW II.
Mr. Burstein married Barbara Wolberg on Oct. 12, 1946, in Kansas City.
They moved to Denver shortly after their marriage.
Mr. Burstein was active in the furniture business for many years. After his retirement, he began a second career as a stockbroker.
A member of Temple Emanuel, he enjoyed reading, classical music, and traveling with his wife.
Mr. Burstein is survived by his wife Barbara Wolberg Burstein; brother Sol Burstein of Prairie Village, Kan.; brother-in-law Ron Wolberg; and his grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his son Neal Burstein in 2004.
