Irene (Chickie) Miller Sass, a native Denverite, passed away Feb. 25, 2011, a day shy of her 93rd birthday, in Los Angeles, Calif. The service was held Feb. 28 in Los Angeles.
Irene will be remembered for her dimpled face, her smile and warmth to everyone, her adorable personality and generosity to family and friends, the family said.
Irene Fogel was born Feb. 26, 1918, in Denver, to the late Esther and Sam Fogel.
She attended West High School.
Irene married Simon Miller in 1937. They had three daughters.
A homemaker for many years, she went to work for the Denver Dry Goods in the 1960s.
In 1977, Irene and Sam moved to Los Angeles to be with their children.
Mr. Miller passed away in 1983.
Irene married Henry Sass in 1985. He predeceased her in 2000.
Irene is survived by her children Phyllis Miller Wachs and Esta Miller Strober; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her daughter Sheila Miller Bryant in 2006.
