Inauguration Day

I was in high school, I had the great fortune of living just outside our nation’s capital. For all its ills, Washington DC is a fabulous tourist destination. The museums are spectacular. The monuments are grand, thought-provoking and beautiful. The mall is majestic. Best of all — it’s all free! In the fall of 1992, Bill Clinton was elected president. On January 20, 1993, a few of us walked up the block to the Wheaton metro stop and took the train into town.
