In Greeley, Jews and non-Jews honor the Holocaust

PASSOVER EDITION 5776 SECTION A PAGE 12 DESPITE THE region’s obvious Jewish minority, the Holocaust memorial observance of Greeley and northern Colorado is one of the most comprehensive commemorations in the state. The 2016 observance, continuing through May 8, features a keynote Holocaust speaker, academic panel discussions, lectures, films, literature, the Litany of the Martyrs, a klezmer concert and Beth Israel’s traditional Yom Hashoah service. While the scale doesn’t tally with the numbers — perhaps a few hundred Jews amid 101,000 residents — its evolution over the past 26 years demonstrates unparalleled interfaith cooperation.
