IJN wins four Rockower awards

The Intermountain Jewish News won four Simon Rockower Awards in Jewish Journalism, the annual contest of the American Jewish Press Assn. The awards were announced at AJPA’s annual conference, June 23-25, in St. Louis.

Only first- and second-place winners are awarded.

Rabbi Hillel Goldberg, IJN executive editor and publisher, placed first in Excellence in Commentary for “Two Minutes with President Trump” (March 23, 2018); “Blessed be the Jet Lag” (July 13, 2018); and “Father of Taylor Force to Address AIPAC” (Aug. 17, 2018).

Goldberg won second place for Excellence in Arts and Criticism News and Features: Critical Analysis/Review for “The Post,” the acclaimed film about the Washington Post’s publication of the Pentagon Papers, Jan. 19, 2018.

Senior Writer Andrea Jacobs placed second in Personality Profiles for “Answering the call: Rabbi Steven Kaye police chaplain” in L’Chaim®, Feb. 23, 2018.

Jacobs won second place in Writing about Women for “Dafna Michaelson Jenet reflects on the Jewish values — and laws — she brings to the Colorado legislature,” June 15, 2018.
