I canceled the Nesher

all the Yom Yerushalayim (Jerusalem Day) celebrations taking place, I figure one more Jerusalem column can’t hurt. Here’s a little vignette to illustrate my Jerusalem Syndrome. Besides my childhood, I lived in Israel, 1999-2007. I don’t remember when exactly, I believe it was 2001, when the negotiations of giving up East Jerusalem and the Temple Mount were intensifying. I was beside myself. I literally felt panicked. As the negotiations were climaxing, each day as I walked to work I would pass a Judaica shop in the window. There was this beautiful menorah.
