Howard M. Howie Katchen, a native Denverite, passed away July 25, 2008, in Marina Del Rey, Calif.
Rabbi Steven Foster officiated at the Aug. 1 graveside service at Mount Nebo Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
Mr. Katchen was born Dec. 21, 1935, in Denver. He graduated from East High and CU.
A furniture wholesaler in Colorado, Nevada and California, he retired from business in 2006.
Mr. Katchen also was the creator of the Wizzard ballroom dance.
Mr. Katchen is survived by his children Tracey Katchen of Montclair, NJ, and Barry Katchen of Denver; brother Bruce (Florrie) Katchen of Denver; grandchildren Morgan and Jason Thinger of New Jersey; and former wife Judy Katchen of Denver.
