Houston: We are America

when the atmosphere here in America was reaching fever pitch tensions, just when our worries about the terrible divisiveness that had taken hold, Mother Nature unleashed a flood of biblical proportions, and changed the course America was on. Along with my fellow Americans, I have watched and been inspired by the courage in crisis — by the outstanding kindness of ordinary Houstonians who came together, en masse, in one tapestry of humanity. Jews, Christians, Muslims, blacks, whites, it didn’t matter. We’re all just people, and this incredible unity — the touching moments of humanity — will be indelible. This is America.
