Funeral services for Harold Harry Friedman, a longtime Denver resident, took place July 8 at Golden Hill Cemetery. Rabbi Bruce Dollin and Cantor Martin Goldstein officiated at services for Mr. Friedman who passed away July 7, 2010. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
Mr. Friedman was a native of Rochester, NY, born Aug. 16, 1918, and resided there until 1940, when he moved to Denver. He married the former Irene Kauvar on March 24, 1940 and was preceded by her in death.
A graduate of Ben Franklin High School in Rochester, Mr. Friedman was a US Army veteran, serving in an anti-aircraft unit from 1942 to 1944.
He was active in real estate and the restaurant business in Denver, having owned and operated the Stockyard Café and Restaurant on Lafayette Street in North Denver.
A bowler who played in the Bnai Brith Mens League, Mr. Friedman was also fond of golf and poker. His family described him as a good man who worked hard and loved his family, and who valued his membership in the Denver Jewish community.
He is survived by his son Terry Allan; grandson Bret Allan; granddaughter Samantha (Allan) Chapin; and great-grandchildren Wyatt, Austin and Sydney Chapin. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins: Mark, Shani Jo, Lizz and Cara Friedman, Julie Lyons, Stacey Barth, Steward and Linda Kauvar and Bobby and Andy Mark.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to HEA or to HCR ManorCare, 290 S. Monaco Parkway, Denver, CO 80224.
