Harlan G. Balaban, a noted Denver attorney, passed away Aug. 5, 2013, in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Mr. Balaban was born Sept. 20, 1924, in Denver.
He served in the US Navy.
In 1950, Mr. Balaban received his LLB from DU.
He was elected to the American Board of Trial Advocates in 1982 and was elected president of the Colorado chapter in 1985.
Mr. Balaban founded Balaban, Levinson & Costigan, PC, where he was of counsel.
He was known for his appreciation of the arts and love for the Colorado mountains.
Justin, his grandson, said that he has lost his hero.
Mr. Balaban is survived by his wife Norma; children Hal and Lisa (Stefan) Mozer; grandchildren Justin and Marisa; and sister Arlene (Art) Moss.
