Organized by the Rocky Mountain Rabbinical Council, the commemoration will honor those Colorado Jews who have served in the US Armed Forces from WW I to the present day, including those killed in action and those who served in times of war and peace.
Each synagogue will offer a special prayer and read a portion of the veterans names from an extensive list that has been maintained and updated by the IJN for decades, and which the newspaper publishes annually on Memorial Day, including in this week’s IJN Home Issue.
Synagogues and rabbis participating in the commemoration on Monday include :
Beth Israel, Greeley, Rabbi Sara Gilbert;
BMH-BJ, Rabbi Selwyn Franklin;
Bnai Havurah, Rabbi Evette Lutman;
Bnai Torah, Rabbi Anat Moskowitz;
Beth Shalom, Rabbi Jeffrey Kaye;
HEA, Rabbi Bruce Dollin;
Rodef Shalom, Rabbi Bernard Gerson;
Shalom Cares, Rabbi Steven Rubenstein;
Temple Emanuel, Rabbi Joseph Black;
Temple Sinai, Rabbi Richard Rheins.
Information on specific services may be obtained by contacting the individual congregations.
