Hannah Heinberg

Hannah HeinbergHannah Heinberg, a Holocaust survivor, passed away April 26, 2010, in Denver. Services were held at Beth David Cemetery in Long Island, NY. Feldman Mortuary made the local arrangements.

“She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother,” the family said.

Mrs. Heinberg was born July 14, 1911, in Ostrow, Poland. She moved to Berlin to join her sisters just before Hitler rose to power.


In Berlin, she met Adolph Heinberg, a commercial artist. They were married on Nov. 15, 1937.

After surviving Kristallnacht, they escaped with their daughter to New York City via London in 1940.

Mr. Heinberg passed away Dec. 22, 1967.

Mrs. Heinberg came to Denver in 1980.

She is survived by her children Ruth (Barry) Herman and Paulette (Cal) Rybek of Denver and Marc (Barbara) Heinberg of Brooklyn, NY; grandchildren Karen Levy, Julia Burns, Andrea Feiglin, Susan Feldman, Aileen Heinberg, Jonathan Heinberg and Avi Heinberg; and 11 great-grandchildren.
