Goldie Singer, 98, a native Denverite and lifelong resident, passed away Sept. 18, 2009. Rabbis David Zucker and Steven Kay and Cantor Martin Goldstein officiated at the Sept. 21 graveside service at Rose Hill Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
She devoted herself completely to her family, her loved ones said, and always made a baby afghan and pillow for all the new children in the family.
She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
Mrs. Singer was born April 14, 1911, in Denver to the late Sarah and David Greenstein.
She grew up in Denver and Great Falls, Mont., and graduated from North High School.
Goldie Greenstein married J. Harry Singer in 1934. The couple loved to go dancing and belonged to several bowling leagues. Mr. Singer passed away in 1972.
Mrs. Singer was active with the HEA and Hadassah. She also volunteered as a Gray Lady at Josephs Hospital.
She enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, Mah Jongg and Pan, and loved to make afghans for all her children.
An avid golfer who also played softball and other sports, she liked watching the Broncos, Nuggets and especially the Rockies in her later years.
Mrs. Singer is survived by her children Neal (Monica) Singer, Barbara Singer and Ilene (Sandy) Stein; grandchildren Mona (Reuel) Raymundo, David (Rebecca) Singer, Nicola (Tim) Wagg, Emeri (Brad) Handler, Bradley (Abra) Stein and Arianne Stein; and 10 great-grandchildren.
