Gertrude Freidenson, a Denver native and lifetime resident, passed away Dec. 12, 2009, in Denver.
Rabbi Bruce Dollin and Cantor Martin Goldstein officiated at the Dec. 15 graveside service at Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Feldman Mortuary.
She was extremely active through her senior years, volunteering, exercising and gardening, the family said. She was sociable and fun-loving, with a spunky sense of humor.
Mrs. Freidenson was born April 28, 1916, in Denver. She attended North High and the Emily Griffith Opportunity School.
She was married to Harry Freidenson until his death on June 29, 2003.
A self-employed hair stylist, Mrs. Freidenson owned a beauty shop in her home on Denvers West Side.
She belonged to the BMH Womens League, the Sage Club and the HEA Sisterhood.
Mrs. Freidenson is survived by her daughters Debbie (Bob) Groman and Brenda (Albert) Banker; grandchildren Tobi Shuman, Jeff Groman and Ryan Banker; and great-grandchild Eitan Shuman.
