Gerald Jerry Gray, a respected businessman and generous supporter of Denvers Jewish community, passed away Dec. 20, 2013. He was 84. Rabbi Brian Immerman and Cantor Regina Heit officiated at the Dec. 22 service at Temple Emanuel.
Burial followed at Emanuel Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather, said his wife Lorna Sadie Gray, his wife of 63 years.
Mr. Gray, a Denver native, was born April 24, 1929. He was a humble West Side youth and a first-generation American.
A graduate of East High, he attended CU and graduated from DU in 1950.
Mr. Grays illustrious career included an accounting partnership with Stone, Gray & CO., CFO for Davis Companies and the real estate concern Miller, Davis, Gray.
Among his partnership holdings were many buildings in downtown Denver and Los Angeles, the Aspen Ski Corporation, Breckenridge, Pebble Beach Golf Course, the Beverly Hills Hotel and 20th Century Fox.
He donated his time and good fortune to the community by serving on the boards of the JCC, Shalom Cares, the Children Diabetes Foundation, DUs Bridge Project and others.
Mr. Gray is survived by his wife Lorna Gray; children Gary (Sheri), Michael and Jim (Frann); and grandchildren Phillip, Caroline (Alex Johnson), Natalie and Connor.
