Gerald Greenberg

Longtime Denver resident and real estate developer Gerald “Jerry” Greenberg passed away on July 16, 2022, at the age of 92. A service was held on July 19 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Skokie, Ill., officiated by Rabbi Yehuda Kantor. Arrangements were made by Chicago Jewish Funerals.

Mr. Greenberg was co-owner of ECD Company, which was responsible for building and managing over 5,000 multifamily units, various office and self-storage properties and hotel developments.

A Denver native, Mr. Greenberg attended Denver East High School and CU. He served in the US Navy aboard the USS Whiteside in 1950-1954, and received an honorable discharge.

Upon returning to Denver, Mr. Greenberg married Blanche Shidler. They lived in the Winston Downs and Gun Club Green neighborhoods, and were married for 66 years until Mrs. Greenberg’s passing in November, 2021.

The Greenbergs were members of the Hebrew Educational Alliance.

“Jerry was a lucky man and deeply loved,” his family said.

Survivors include children Russell (Robyn) Greenberg, Scott (Alison Zim) Greenberg and Gregory (Judy) Greenberg; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
