Gerald Grebb

Gerald GrebbGerald Grebb, beloved husband of Rochelle Grebb for 61 years, passed away July 24, 2012, in Denver. Rabbi Keren Gorban and Chazzan Bryan Zive officiated at the July 27 service at Temple Sinai. There was a private interment. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, Sept. 9, noon-2 p.m., at the Self Realization Fellowship, 2246 S. Albion St.

Mr. Grebb was born Oct. 21, 1927, in Providence, RI. He was orphaned at age 13, joined the Marines when he was 17 and finished boot camp just as WW II ended.

He earned a BA in philosophy from Brown University through the GI Bill.

Mr. Grebb met his future wife Rochelle in upstate New York and moved to Florida, where they were married.

A man of many abilities, he taught third grade, sold shoes and worked on a farm.

Mr. Grebb moved to Denver in 1951 and opened the Motorina Café.

He then met an electrical contractor who offered him a partnership in his business. Mr. Grebb eventually decided to branch out on his own and started Grebb Electric, Federal Electric and Lighting World.

He later developed Grebb Properties.

Mr. Grebb, who served as a Westminster City Councilman, joined the Self Realization Fellowship in 1962 and was one of the founders of the Denver chapter.

Throughout his life he helped people in need and actively supported numerous charities.

Mr. Grebb is survived by his wife Rochelle Grebb; children Morey (Rocio) Grebb of Denver and Lori (Mitchell Cohen) Petrie Cohen of LA; and three grandchildren, Austin, James and Nikki.
