George lived at Kavod Senior Life, where he enjoyed concerts and entertaining residents with his wry sense of humor and sailing stories, the family said.
He will be missed by his friends at Kavod, his many friends in South Carolina and of course his family.
George was born in Chicago, Ill.
His grandfather, Morris Booth, was the only shochet and cantor who lived on the Iron Range in Minnesota. His synagogue in Virginia, Minn., is on the National Historic Registry and is the only synagogue still standing on the range.
Georges major joy in life was sailing, which he did both in Chicago and Miami, Fla.
He also was involved in Boy Scouts as a troop leader and district commissioner in Chicago.
A resident of Miami and Camden, SC, for many years, he moved to Denver in June of 2013 to be near his son, granddaughter and family.
George Booth is survived by his children Rabbi Stephen (Jan) Booth-Nadav and Barbara Booth; and granddaughter Ariella Booth-Nadav.
