Generations of Mitzvahs

Bar and Bat Mitzvah of twins Lila and Noah Rubin was a nod to five generations of their family who have lived and practiced Judaism in Colorado. It was also a reflection of contemporary Judaism that differs from that of their great-great grandparents, but expresses the same commitment to continuity. Lila and Noah are the twin children of Rick and Julie Rubin, and are the sixth generation of a pioneer family which laid down its roots in Colorado in the 1890s. Rick’s parents are Irv and Charlotte Rubin of Denver (the twins’ grandparents). Charlotte Rubin’s parents — Lila and Noah’s great-grandparents — were Anne and William Goldberg.
