Gary Smookler

Gary SmooklerGary Smookler, a Denver native, passed away June 10, 2014. Rabbi Joe Black officiated at the June 12 graveside service at Rose Hill Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

Gary was born Jan. 9, 1954, in Denver.

He attended George Washington High and earned a business degree at Arizona State University.

Gary worked with his late father Mel Smookler at the family business Refrigerated Foods Inc. in the 1970s and 1980s. They were very close.

Many people remember him as the dad of Blackjack, a little black poodle. The two of them went everywhere together.

Gary is survived by his mother Radine of Arizona; siblings Peggy and Rick (Alisann) of Arizona and Ron (Misty) of Denver; and nieces Stephanie (Josh) and Allison, all of Denver.

Mel Smookler predeceased his son in 2004.
