Francie Alpert, a Holocaust survivor, passed away May 25, 2014, in Aurora. Rabbis Joe Black and Steven Foster and Cantor Regina Heit officiated at the May 28 graveside service at Emanuel Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
Born May 13, 1931, in Paris, France, Mrs. Alpert was hidden in Switzerland during the Holocaust. The rest of her family remained in France, where the Nazis arrested her father.
She came to Denver in 1947.
Francie Waligora marred Eugene V. Alpert on Sept. 5, 1949. Mr. Alpert passed away on Aug. 12, 2009.
A volunteer for numerous organizations in Denver, Mrs. Alpert loved to cook, travel, the outdoors and animals.
Mrs. Alpert is survived by her children Sherri of Aurora, Ron of California and Michele of Denver; and grandchildren Sam Clouse and Sydney and Max Alpert.
