Frances Fine, a longtime Denver resident and an educator, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2016. She was 91. Services were held Oct. 26 at Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz Memorial Chapel in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. Rabbi Steven Rubenstein officiated.

Interment followed at Mt. Olive Cemetery. Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz made the arrangements.

Frances Gordon was born July 4, 1925, in Cleveland. A graduate of Glenville High, she received a BA in psychology from Western Reserve University and a BS in education from Kent State University.

An educator, she taught in the Cleveland Heights-University Heights school district, the Cleveland Hebrew Schools, Park Synagogue and the JCC.

Mrs. Fine was predeceased by her beloved husband Dr. Isaac Fine on July 3, 1993.

In Cleveland, she belonged to Na’amat Women, NCJW, alumni associations and Oer Chodosh Synagogue.

She attended BMH-BJ in Denver.

Mrs. Fine is survived by her children Evelyn Fine of Washington, DC, Alan (Sally Lewis) Fine of Denver and Sharon Fine-Schwartz (Joseph Schwartz) of Potomac, Md., and grandchildren Sydney de Lapeyrouse Kagan, Meredith Swartz Dante, Rachel Ginsburg Swartz and Abigail Fine.

Contributions may be made to any Jewish day school or the charity of choice.
