Forty young adults from Colorado on a Birthright trip

Jesse BlumRobert B. Sturm and JEWISHcolorado are sponsoring a Colorado community bus of 40 young adults on a Birthright trip to Israel. ?   The bus departed Monday, June 16, from Ben Gurion Airport in Israel with Denver’s Jesse Blum, YAD Give chair, leading the group.

Birthright aims to strengthen Jewish identity, Jewish communities and solidarity with Israel by providing a 10-day trip to Israel for Jewish young adults ages 18-26. The Taglit-Birthright Israel program recently expanded eligibility for its 10-day trips to Israel.

Teenagers who went on an educational trip to Israel during high school were previously not eligible for Birthright trips, but can now participate.

This summer’s trip is exploring tourist sites including Jerusalem, the Western Wall, Yad Vashem, Tel Aviv, and exploring the North and South of the country.

In addition, the group is visiting Colorado’s partnership region in Ramat HaNegev, where they will meet their Israeli peers and get off the beaten track of a typical Birthright bus.

Upon their return, participants will be connected with the local Colorado Jewish community through JEWISHcolorado’s young adult department (YAD).
