Florence Mittler

Florence Mittler, wife of the late Holocaust survivor Leo Mittler and a volunteer at Rodef Shalom’s gift shop, passed away April 16, 2021, in Denver. Rabbi Salomon Gruenwald officiated at the April 20 interment at Fort Logan National Cemetery. A memorial ceremony followed at the HEA. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

“She loved her family, art, jewelry, reading, the theater and traveling around the world,” the family said.

Florence Berman was born Dec. 6, 1934, in Brooklyn, New York to Joseph “Joe” and Eva Berman.

She graduated Thomas Jefferson High School and earned an associate of arts degree in Brooklyn.

On Dec. 6, 1958, she married Leo Mittler.

The couple first resided in New York until moving to Denver in 1973, when they opened The Auto Service House, a car repair company.

Mrs. Mittler, who worked with her husband at the shop, also volunteered many hours at the Rodef Shalom gift shop.

They retired to Palm Desert, Calif. in 1986 but returned to Denver in 2017 to be with their family and longtime friends.

Mr. Mittler passed away on April 11, 2020.

Florence Mittler is survived by children Edie Joyce Mittler of Florida and Felice Lynn Mittler and Perry Michael Mittler, both of Colorado; and grandchild Jordan Elan Mittler.
