Fire strikes Colorado Springs shul

fire early on the first day of Rosh Hashanah last week damaged the synagogue used by Chabad-Lubavitch of Southern Colorado in Colorado Springs. No injuries were reported but damage to the structure was described as significant. Worshippers gathering early on Monday, Oct. 3, heard a loud explosion in the attic of the shopping plaza on Rockrimmon Blvd. in which the Chabad shul is located, the website COLlive reported. When those in the sanctuary — including spiritual leader Rabbi Moshe Liberow and his family — noticed thick smoke inside and outside of the structure, they quickly evacuated the premises.
