“Esther lived a full and vibrant life,” the family said. “Her mind was clear and bright, and she was a contemporary thinker. Blessed by good health and longevity, she was known and respected throughout the Denver community.

“Her elegance, intelligence, humor and uplifting support, as well as her devotion to family, made her an incredible inspiration.”

Esther was born in September, 2012, in Denver.

She was raised in an immigrant community by her Romanian parents Katie and Peter Marcove, along with her three older brothers and a sister.

After graduating East High, she worked in the office of her brother Dr. Maurice Marcove, an ophthalmologist.

She met Ippie (Litman) Sachter at a wedding at the Brown Palace Hotel.

Married by Rabbi Manuel Laderman at the Park Lane Hotel, their love story lasted 65 years.

The couple opened the Englewood Men’s Store with their brother-in-law and sister Joe and Rose Brown.

Esther worked at the store part time, especially during the busy holiday seasons.

Their life together was filled with family, friends, laughter and love.

Although Ippie passed away in 2002, Esther continued the tradition of family dinners.

She played Canasta, Pan and Mah Jongg with her lifelong friends and enjoyed traveling, reading, music and musical theater.

Esther was grateful for the opportunity to visit her Israeli relatives, with whom she became very close.

Her family was among the original members of BMH, where Esther belonged her entire life.

She supported BMH-BJ, Allied Jewish Federation and Hadassah.

Esther is survived by her children Shirley (Sonny) Beck and Toby (Dick) Meyer; grandchildren Cliff and Bob Beck, Cindy (Andy) Silverman and Mark (Jody) Meyer; and great-grandchildren Liza and Alexi Silverman and Ted and Lucy Meyer.
