Eric Jacob Motazedi, 39, a brilliant, self-taught engineer who pioneered many new technologies, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2021, in Centennial after a 10-month battle with colorectal cancer. Rabbi Salomon Gruenwald officiated at the July 13 service at Seven Stones Chatfield Cemetery. Feldman made the arrangements.

“Eric enjoyed telling witty stories to family and friends until our stomachs hurt from laughing so much,” his loved ones said. “He was a proud Jew who lived his life according to Jewish law and tradition.”

Mr. Motazedi was born Oct. 20, 1981, at Rose Medical Center. He graduated from Missouri Military Academy in 2000 and was second in command of the student body.

He began college at Fort Lewis College in Durango; attended Metropolitan State College of Colorado; and graduated with a degree in technical management from DeVry University.

Mr. Motazedi pioneered new technologies and led engineering teams that delivered custom hardware, audio devices, multi-band phased array radar, autonomous robotic systems and FPGA neural network acceleration.

He worked for Accenture, where he was scheduled to become a partner later this year.
