Sometimes, great disappointment becomes a stroke of luck. Fifty-five students learned that as a result of Israel’s initial bombing of Iran on June 13. “There was a lot of disappointment,” said Eli Mercado, 17, “but I’m really thankful that I’m not in Israel right now.”
